Oil skimmers

With ARBO Oil skimmers you are protecting the environment and you can also reclaim valuable oils.

Offers the possibility to simply but effectively remove oil or fat layers from liquid surfaces. The operational principle is based on the adhesion between oil and the belt or disc. The oil is skimmed off and collected in a suitable container. Because all the parts that come into contact with the liquid are made of plastic or SS-316, the use is not limited to water but acids or alkaline liquids may be treated as well.

Fields of applications:
Degreasing tanks, chemical pickling tanks, coolants, fuel depots, steel mills, automotive industry, laundries, diaries, foodstuffs industry, abattoirs, galvanising plants and surface treatment applications.

The following versions are available:

Belt skimmers
By using a special endless plastic belt, which moves vertically through the polluted liquid and a scraper mechanism to remove the oil from the belt, your oil problem can be solved in an effective way. Thanks to its compact construction, it is possible to install the skimmer permanently for constinuous cleaning, even during working hours.

Advantages
:

  • Suitable for tanks with variable liquid levels
  • Belt lengths possible from 200mm to 4000mm.
  • Made entirely of plastic and completely corrosion resistant
  • Adjustable capacity by means of variable drive speed
  • Drive has no brushes ensuring a long life
  • No mechanical parts in the liquid zone
  • Also available in stainless Steel (SS)

Disk skimmers
Instead of a belt, with this type of skimmer, a plastic or SS disc that is cleaned by skimmer blades is used. Because the disc may be positioned just over the edge of your process tank, this machine is specifically suited for applications with stable liquid levels just below the wall of the process tank.

Other advantages:

  • Requires little space in the tank
  • Higher chemical and temperature resistance than the belt skimmer
